Norway has some of the most extreme mountain sides where you can ski down as part of a fantastic landscape with a view of the fjord and mountains. The snow conditions are sometimes absolutely perfect with powdersnow on top of a stable snow base, but can also be dangerous. Most people would not even dare to think the idea about skiing dow the steep mountain sides, but the local Norwegian youths who knew the conditions well have always played with who to drive the steepest places. If you have a dream about extreme downhill then you must always contact the local guides for advice on where to ride and preferably go up to the top in a large group to help each other if something goes wrong. Only extremely crazy Vikings go up to the top of the mountain alone and drive straight down.
The most beautiful areas for Viking skiing are the Lyngsalpene, Jotunheimen and Sognefjord area.
